Avoiding probate and protecting your assets for future generations
A trust is one of the most powerful tools in estate planning. It allows you to transfer assets to your beneficiaries efficiently, privately, and — in most cases — without the delay and expense of probate court. Bob Weber has been helping Arizona families establish trusts for over 50 years.
The most common type of trust used in estate planning is the revocable living trust. You create it during your lifetime, retain full control over the assets in it, and can modify or revoke it at any time. Upon your death, the assets in the trust pass directly to your named beneficiaries — bypassing probate entirely.
An irrevocable trust, once established, generally cannot be changed or revoked. In exchange for giving up control, you may gain significant benefits — including protection from creditors, removal of assets from your taxable estate, and eligibility for certain government benefits programs.
Irrevocable trusts are often used for Medicaid planning, asset protection, and reducing estate tax exposure. Bob Weber will help you determine whether an irrevocable trust makes sense for your situation.
"A properly funded trust is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family — it spares them from the probate process during an already difficult time."
— Bob Weber, Attorney at Law
Creating a trust document is only the first step. For a trust to work as intended, it must be properly "funded" — meaning your assets (real estate, bank accounts, investments, etc.) must be transferred into the trust. Bob Weber guides clients through this process to ensure nothing is left out.
